M Otto…. 10.90

Total 37.15

Pretty good for July...

11 pickers and you had 8 who kept you even or better, and 3 who didn't (not including the fee for the wisdom).

The trend seems up heading into football. Hope they didn't peak too early.

You people do know that since it's football season, that football will become the "easiest sport to beat."

Are these figures for baseball, or some combination of sports?

I say this because WNBA, at least, started off with "everyone" having fantastic records the first month or so, and then tapered off considerably. So if you consider that WNBA might be a "pig in the snake", is then baseball flat?

Fortunately, the breakdown for July is pretty easy. There are 3 sports, MLB, WNBA and PGA (Golf). Only Helmut does WNBA, only Fairway Jay does PGA. For July, Helmut was 6-18 in the WNBA, down -13.8 units and FJ was 11-5 in golf, up +6.45 units.

Thus baseball up big even despite the WNBA disaster.

Oh good grief.

If tetherball season started tomorrow and Tim Trushel thought he could get you excited by having 11 guys talking about it, he would be selling it to you.

Default Sportsmemo at it again

Using the old "monthly" upturn advertising strategy, Sportsmemo is now touting Helmut as 12-5, 71% for August.

Not mentioned is his 6-18, 25% record for July and that his WNBA picks have lost money overall for the 2009 WNBA season, not even counting the large service fee.

After seeing his hockeynutesque reasoning for some MLS and Under 19 women's BB champs plays over at LVA, I think it's pretty obvious Helmut is just trying to leverage his CBB totals success into other small markets without really having any clue about what he is doing. (e.g. he advised to play on the LA Galaxy because they recently got back David Beckham lol)

In all fairness the MLS market is pretty weak and doesn't seem to adjust enough for some pretty major roster changes. That being said, Beckham is probably the one thing that is completely accounted for in the market.
